Build Altitude Habits into the Weekly Rhythm
- Bottle access, refill breaks, and recovery food matter more at elevation.
- Programs at altitude cannot treat these as optional extras.

Aspire Colorado Coaching
Give Colorado programs a practical system for training, travel, and athlete support across elevation bands.
Altitude nutrition works best as a team system: repeatable bottle and refill access, an iron-referral pathway, and simple guidance for visiting athletes.
Altitude nutrition works best as a Colorado program habit, not a last-minute reminder.
Do this:
Try this week: Refill your bottle at every water break this week and notice how the last rep feels.
Not true: living in Colorado means you already know how to fuel up high.
Start with the food category. Tap a package for one recognizable brand example, then swap within the category for access, tolerance, culture, budget, and allergens.

At elevation the air holds less oxygen and less moisture, so breathing rate rises and water leaves through the lungs all practice, a loss that never shows as sweat.
Hard work in thin air often leans harder on carbohydrate, and appetite can dip in the first days at altitude, so recovery food is scheduled, not left to hunger.
Fatigue, slow recovery, repeated illness, and bone pain have many causes at any elevation; the coach notices the pattern, and the family and physician decide what to check.
When to use this
Preseason planning for Colorado programs, or whenever a team at elevation is putting its hydration and iron process in writing.

Write the bottle owner, refill location, planned break, and adult who owns the heat or emergency decision.
Done looks like: All four details are confirmed before the session begins.
Where to go next
From one handout to a repeatable team system
Coach: Open the matching week, deliver the team talk, assign the staff owner, and verify the written action.
Family: Send the editable family message, share the handout, and keep the same next action visible in the family portal.
