Wider Than the Folklore Says
- For one race with dinner tonight, thirty minutes is not a deadline.
- It genuinely tightens twice: racing again today, or racing tomorrow.

Aspire Meet Day System
The window at a meet is usually an availability window, not a metabolic one. Here is what is actually within reach.
At a meet the reason to eat soon is that nothing else is open until dinner.
Meet them at the fence with something, and pack the ride-home food separately.
Do this:
Try this week: Pack your own after-race snack in Friday's cooler, and see if you actually eat it at the fence.
Not true: thirty minutes or it did not count. A missed snack did not undo your race.
Start with the food category. Tap a package for one recognizable brand example, then swap within the category for access, tolerance, culture, budget, and allergens.

For a runner heading home tonight, glycogen refilling runs all evening; the thirty-minute rule is folklore, and you eat at the fence because nothing else is open until dinner.
The window genuinely tightens with a second race in hours or tomorrow morning, because refilling is faster early and total time is short; small, low-fat carbohydrate clears the stomach fastest.
The morning sandwich is a different problem: food kept warm for more than about two hours is past the safety line, and nine hours in a duffel is not close.
When to use this
After the finish, and again when you are packing the cooler on Friday.
Finish before you close this page
Choose the first recovery food and write the time and place of the next full meal.
Done looks like: The first food is packed or confirmed and the meal plan has a real owner.
Advanced lab
The sheet says the window is wider than the folklore. That is true of the ordinary Saturday and false of two specific meet days. Here is the difference and what to do about it.
Dizziness, fainting or confusion after a finish is a same-day athletic-trainer matter. Repeated inability to eat after racing across a season goes to a parent or guardian, a physician, and a sports dietitian.
Where to go next
From one handout to a repeatable team system
Coach: Open the matching week, deliver the team talk, assign the staff owner, and verify the written action.
Family: Send the editable family message, share the handout, and keep the same next action visible in the family portal.
