One Race, Six Empty Hours
- Nobody makes a bad call; small non-decisions add up to nachos at 11.
- Fix it with two times, not a menu: an anchor meal and a closing time.

Aspire Meet Day System
Two shapes of long day that need opposite plans, and an honest account of what recovery in hours can do.
The race is not the hard part of a seven-hour meet — the unstructured hours are.
Name the anchor meal early, close the kitchen ninety minutes out, then spend the gap.
Do this:
Try this week: At the next long meet, write the meal time on your hand and eat then, not when bored.
Not true: one more snack fixes a slow second race. Shade, water, and legs up usually help more.
Start with the food category. Tap a package for one recognizable brand example, then swap within the category for access, tolerance, culture, budget, and allergens.

A seventeen-minute race barely dents muscle glycogen, and refilling it takes hours anyway, so a second-race fade is rarely about carbohydrate.
The usual limiters are heat, fluid lost across a long morning, a second warm-up on tired legs, and plain fatigue from a maximal effort hours earlier.
Closing the kitchen ninety minutes out keeps volume and fat out of the stomach at the line, which is the failure mode that actually shows up.
When to use this
Any meet where arrival and racing are more than three hours apart, or an athlete races twice.
Finish before you close this page
Pack one familiar primary option and one delay backup, then confirm who carries the bag.
Done looks like: A packed-bag photo or staff check shows the plan is physically ready.
Advanced lab
The sheet says glycogen is rarely the reason a second race goes badly. This is the reasoning, and where the guidance it contradicts is actually correct.
Dizziness, confusion, cramping or a collapse in later events is a same-day athletic-trainer question, not a cooler question. As a repeating pattern it goes to a physician.
Where to go next
From one handout to a repeatable team system
Coach: Open the matching week, deliver the team talk, assign the staff owner, and verify the written action.
Family: Send the editable family message, share the handout, and keep the same next action visible in the family portal.
