Aspire Championship Week
Keep the routine steady, match food to the actual work, and remove last-minute experiments.
Race week rewards a rehearsed plan: keep meals regular as training changes, use familiar carbohydrate foods around the work, protect sleep, and remove experiments.
A championship week that ends calmer than it started means the fueling plan actually worked.
Do this:
Try this week: Write this week's meals on paper Sunday night, then eat what you wrote instead of what nerves say.
Not true: the pasta dinner is the whole plan. Every meal this week counts, and so does sleep.
Start with the food category. Tap a package for one recognizable brand example, then swap within the category for access, tolerance, culture, budget, and allergens.

| Days Out | Plate | Also |
|---|---|---|
| 7-6 | Same balanced plates as all season | Confirm breakfast and hydration are dialed |
| 5-4 | Normal meals stay intact as training changes | Map school, travel, and practice |
| 3-2 | Familiar carbs stay present; lock in dinner | Sleep becomes the priority |
| 1 and race morning | The rehearsed dinner and breakfast | Bedtime protected from pep rallies |

As training volume drops, normal meals refill muscle glycogen on their own, which is much of what a taper does, and it fails if meals shrink with the mileage.
A high school race is too short to need an adult carbohydrate-loading protocol; familiar carbohydrate at every meal does the job without the bloating or the gut risk.
Sleep the two nights before consolidates recovery and steadies nerves, and a rehearsed dinner and breakfast remove the decisions that anxiety would otherwise make badly.
When to use this
Seven days before a big race, when nerves start pushing athletes to change everything at once.

Pack one familiar primary option and one delay backup, then confirm who carries the bag.
Done looks like: A packed-bag photo or staff check shows the plan is physically ready.
Where to go next
From one handout to a repeatable team system
Coach: Open the matching week, deliver the team talk, assign the staff owner, and verify the written action.
Family: Send the editable family message, share the handout, and keep the same next action visible in the family portal.
