Team talk
Open the conversation in 5 minutes
- Tell athletes the snack time, storage point, and private help route.

Context
Overview
A new season does not need a complicated nutrition program. It needs food access, clear language, staff boundaries, and a referral path that works on an ordinary school day.
The goal of the first month is not to evaluate individual athletes. It is to remove predictable barriers across the team.
Week 1: Map the environment
Start with the system:
Use a short, optional family survey for logistics such as allergies, food access, and communication preferences. Do not collect body weight, menstrual information, meal logs, diagnoses, or supplement use for a team nutrition file.
When can athletes actually eat during the school day?
Is food allowed in the locker room, on the bus, or near practice?
Where can bottles be filled?
What does the team already provide?
Which allergies, school rules, transportation issues, or budget limits affect access?
Who is the correct school contact when a family raises a health concern?
